One more question, since you mentioned Drew had some trouble hearing on the field last year - does he wear the FM and the coach use the microphone when he practices/plays? Thanks!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04356036111501743757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37382396.post-83903240112300352442014-01-21T16:07:02.245-05:002014-01-21T16:07:02.245-05:00Hi Sara, Drew has worn the same helmet each of the...Hi Sara, Drew has worn the same helmet each of the last three seasons. It continues to work really well. He actually only wears the helmet for batting; he wears his baseball hat in the field. He loves baseball (basketball is his favorite sport; baseball is second). We did have a little bit of an issue with him hearing well in the field last year - he was in a more competitive league, and sometimes he couldn't hear his coach. We had a baseball program put on his CI that made the hearing "bubble" much larger and he seemed to do much better with that. We also changed his mic covers frequently from all of the dirt on the baseball fields. Other than that, he's just your average seven year old playing baseball! Good Luck!Drew's Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09785837091572603406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37382396.post-60990025598061452522014-01-20T15:08:26.448-05:002014-01-20T15:08:26.448-05:00so glad i found this! you are 2 years ahead of us ...so glad i found this! you are 2 years ahead of us :)
Our daughter was born bilaterally profoundly deaf in 2008 also due to Connexin 26. 1 ear implanted (hopefully 2 soon!)I wish they would have done bilateral implants, but her doctor wound't do it. But no complaints bc she's doing great! Taking kindergarten by storm and hoping to sign up for tee-ball this spring! Thanks for the info re: helmets! Does your son wear the hard helmet both for batting and fielding? I see this post is a few years old - how has he done with baseball? Any advise? I'll have to look and see if they make adjustable ice hockey helmets!

Also, we need pictures of Drew and baseball - I bet he is adorable in his little league stuff!leahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004783118268323560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37382396.post-2240470359573374332011-05-11T07:32:25.234-04:002011-05-11T07:32:25.234-04:00Awesome!
